A detailed thread on the difference in perspectives between patient and physician. Even if you don't get all the medicine (I know I don't!) worth a look, particularly prospective medics. @GenMedX
The mysterious illness of Alfred Reinhart. 💔 A short(ish) thread on perspective, communication and courage in medicine. And why this is my favourite case report. But first, a journey back to 1931. https://t.co/0B6kH7d7ET @sayed_tabatabai #MedTwitter
Sunday morning “light reading” brings me across this 2002 @CMAJ article in which 24 yo HMS student A.Reinhart chronicles his symptoms as he dies slowly & painfully from subacute endocarditis in 1931. Thank goodness for antibiotics. #idtwitter #saveabx
@GermHunterMD @allanronald4 This version of his account in CMAJ was brilliantly authored: https://t.co/hadHedbij8

https://t.co/ciQx5my3y5 I'm on service and once again note the high rates of endocarditis. Thx to @CMAJ for this wonderful commentary on the first person account by HMS student Alfred Reinhart of his experience w/SBE in the 1930s. Insightful and poignant.
